Kibera
Jon and Jo Parsons are working with a Turning Point Project in Kibera, a huge slum area on the outskirts of Nairobi in Kenya. The project provides food and supports the education for some of the neediest children. A Community Farm has been set up in Kinangop about 80 miles from Nairobi. Here single mothers can take the first steps to independance.

Kampala
Kate
and Nick Wooding took up their new post in Kampala Diocese in
August 2009 and after some initial problems have begun to settle in.
They
ask that we continue to pray they will be blessed with support,
funding, accommodation, transport and new friends in Kampala. They are
attending St
Stephen's church, Kisugu (Church Of Uganda).
Nick is teaching at the International Health Sciences University
in Kampala and has been asked to be the Director of Health Education
as well as lay chaplain of International
Hospital, Kampala. Kate will be working in Namuwongo slums,
in the area of HIV/AIDS. Kate's
research for her M.A. in Development looked
at children on antiretroviral treatment. Kate is hoping to learn
Luganda, the local dialect.
Ben and Anna, their two children, are attending the International
School of Uganda.

We maintain contact with Duncan and Marion in Kigaasi Village
in the Kawempe division of Kampala. Duncan is an ordained priest in
Kampala Diocese but is currently without a parish. He is Head of
Education and lecturing at the Ugandan Pentecostal University in Fort
Portal. Marion is a teacher at the Alpha Pre-school and Kindergarten in
Kampala. They have two children Martha and Daniel.
Following a visit by Janet and Tony Prichard in February 2010 we have
pledged to maintain better contact with The Diocese of Luweero.
