The in:School project

Church and School working together for the Children of East Swindon

The in:School project was started in September 2007 in an effort to link the schools and churches of East Swindon, Wiltshire. The project aims to reach children and help the schools in the religious content of their curriculum. This is achieved by the local churches employing a schools worker who works with the local congregations in forming effective partnerships with the local schools. The programme consists of Assemblies, Major Christian Festivals, School clubs, "Easter Cracked Open" and "Christmas Unwrapped". Typically over one thousnad key stage two children benefit from a better understanding of the Christmas and Easter Christian festivals. Teams of church members help to deliver the workshops and activities. Training and support are provided where necessary.
